The Process

The greater the obstacle
the more glory
in overcoming it

Symm offers a complete joinery and stonemasonry service worldwide and is also happy to undertake fit-out projects in any part of the world on joinery and stonemasonry projects.

A brief is typically received from the designer or architect, often early in the project, which usually takes the form of reasonably detailed drawings or sketch proposals.

At this stage we often give advice on timber or stone selection and finishes and, if required, we provide full size samples to enable materials and finishes to be agreed.

Following this we prepare a detailed estimate for the work. On acceptance of our estimate and a deposit we visit site to take dimensions and then prepare full size detailed shop drawings for the designer’s approval.

Manufacture and finishing progresses in our Oxford and Pershore workshops and during this stage we encourage designer and client visits to view our work.

On completion we transport finished work directly to site where we either advise on, supervise or carry out joinery or stone installation depending upon which service best suits the project team and client.
